What Does Your Fireplace Burn?

Some homeowners prefer the smell of a traditional wood burning fireplace and others prefer the convenience of turning on their gas fireplace at the flick of a switch.  Furthermore, some homeowners prefer the portability and efficiency of an electric fireplace.  All of these have their features and benefits, but there is a new guy in town who may win over the hearts of many Saskatoon homeowners.

Brasa Camden

Make way for Brasa. These free standing fireplaces burn bioethanol which is environmentally friendly. They are the most portable and versatile fireplace yet. Place it on your coffee table, in your bedroom, or on your patio! Visit our showroom for the full selection and watch the video below to see how they work. Keep fit, have fun, and stay warm!

Let Centennial Do the Math

You’ve read about it in the newspaper, heard about it on the radio, and seen people talk about it on TV, but the EnerGuide for Houses Program can still seem so confusing! The good news is that there are many ways in which you can save. The bad news is that to figure out what you will save there is a little bit of math involved. However, there is more good news because Centennial is about to do the math for you!

Here’s what you will save if you install a high efficient furnace, an air conditioner, and an HRV with Centennial:

  • Your EnerGuide Preretrofit Evaluation will be paid for by Centennial. Savings = $150
  • You will receive a rebate on your furnace installation. Savings = $1,440
  • You will receive a rebate on your air conditioning installation. Savings = $550
  • You will receive a rebate on your HRV installation. Savings = $775

Total Savings =$2,915

To break it down even further, here are Michael and Steven to explain just how you can take advantage of these savings before March 31, 2012!

Making a Difference Where it Matters Most – Close to Home

12 months, 12 local organizations, $12,000. In January 2011 the Centennial 12 in 12 Community Campaign was launched in hopes to support 12 nonprofit and charitable organizations in Saskatoon. Each month a new organization was selected from a batch of nominations to receive a $1,000 donation and after 12 months of giving Centennial could not be happier with the result. Twelve very deserving organizations excitedly accepted donations. Over 1,700 nominations were submitted by organization workers, volunteers, participants, and the general public. Thank you to Saskatoon for supporting your community!

Centennial is proud to announce that the 12 in 12 Community Campaign will continue into 2012. To submit a nomination, click here.

I’m Dreaming of a Bright Christmas

This year we may not see a White Christmas in Saskatoon, but hopefully for all of you it is a Bright one! Over the holidays Christmas lights will gleam from rooftops and on Christmas trees all around town. These lights bring out the Christmas spirit, but as Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor taught us year after year, if you get too carried away with your lights you might not have any at all! Here are a few tips to help you stay safe this Christmas:

  1. Check all cords before using to ensure they are not damaged or frayed
  2. Use UL approved electrical devices
  3. Test your smoke alarms and replace the batteries if necessary
  4. Turn off your lights before going to bed or leaving the house
  5. Do not overload an outlet
  6. Do not place extension cords in an area that is a tripping hazard
  7. Avoid running extension cords under rugs or furniture

The Adventures of World Toilet Day!

World Toilet Day Saskatoon

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Super Toilet! This Saturday November 19th people all over the world will be helping fight against improper sanitation. Millions of people suffer from deadly diseases as a result of improper sanitation. The World Toilet Organization has put together an initiative to help spread awareness of this issue and to raise money to not only build latrines, but to also educate people on sanitation in third world countries. To help spread awareness of this cause in Saskatoon Centennial has all regular priced low flush and dual flush toilets $100 off with the Provincial Toilet Rebate.

Visit www.wateraidamerica.org to learn more about World Toilet Day and world wide sanitation issues.

Happy World Toilet Day!
