Heat Pump Questions

  • How do I get started?
Use the form below to request heat pump rebate updates or ask about your options. Centennial's team will follow up with you. This form is an inquiry to Centennial, not a government rebate application.
  • What rebate is available, and when can I apply?

The Government of Canada has announced rebates of $2,000 for eligible households, or up to $10,000 for eligible low- to median-income households. Applications are expected to open in early 2027, with qualifying installations from November 1, 2026 eligible retroactively. The announced program does not require an energy audit. Further eligibility and equipment details are expected November 1. Rebate amounts and eligibility are subject to program requirements. See the official Government of Canada page.

  • Will a heat pump lower my energy bills?
Potential savings depend on your current heating source, the equipment selected, your home's heating needs and local energy rates. Greater equipment efficiency does not automatically mean lower bills compared with natural gas. Our team can help you consider the costs and benefits for your home.
  • Can I keep my existing furnace?
Some heat pump systems can be paired with a compatible existing furnace. The answer depends on your equipment, ductwork and controls. Our team can assess compatibility and explain your options. Technical compatibility and rebate eligibility must both be confirmed for the proposed installation.
  • Can a heat pump work in Saskatchewan?
Cold-climate heat pumps are designed to operate at low outdoor temperatures. In Saskatchewan, a supplementary heating source is needed when conditions exceed the heat pump's operating range or heating capacity. A properly designed system can combine a heat pump with a furnace or another backup heat source. Centennial can assess your home and recommend suitable options.
  • What is a heat pump?
A heat pump uses electricity to transfer heat into or out of your home. In summer, it cools your home like an air conditioner. In heating mode, it draws heat from the outdoor air and transfers it indoors. The outdoor unit looks similar to an air conditioner.
